Through a series of training episodes in the community service branch that is done by Laylac institution for college students, four female students from Al-quds open university made a study on the Palestinian societal needs focusing on waste and public health in Dehesha refugees camp- Salam district in Bethlehem. These four students decided to encourage society awareness about public health under logo of “our environment is our mirror”. The students coordinated with UNRWA- Health and environment department, as well with residents of the neighborhood in order to provide in-kind and logistic support to some families. In addition to the information process has started through publications, brochures, design blouses that reflect the content of the campaign and also by communicating with residents using loudspeakers followed by distribution process of waste baskets for some families. The result was the satisfaction and desirability of neighborhood residents for this initiative, which encouraged them to be involved into his project that has been followed-p by Laylac Center. This training done in April 2015 after three months of work.
